How are you feeling today? Good, mad, sad, scared, all of the above? Aren’t these emotions a bit like voices in your head talking to you and to each other? The new Inside Out movie is cute, funny, not to mention informative if you know what it’s like to have mixed feelings about things.

WORDS & EXPRESSIONS TO KNOW:

How was school? = Did you like school today?

I guess. = I think so, but I’m not sure.

pick up on something = notice something

leave the toilet seat open/up = to put the toilet seat in an position and then let it stay there

joy = a feeling of happiness – You are happy.

sadness = the opposite of happiness – You are sad.

disgust = a strong feeling of dislike – You are disgusted.

anger = a strong feeling when something bad or unfair happens – You are angry / mad.

fear = a bad feeling when someone is in danger – You are afraid / scared.

think positive = think that good things will happen

a major problem = a very big problem

long-term memory = your ability to remember things that happened a long time ago and remember them for a long time

get lost = to loose your way and not know where you are

turn things around = to make things good again
