do the laundry = wash dirty clothes

do someone a favor = do something someone asks you to help them

do some sightseeing = go around town to look at nice buildings

get to do something (here: we get to do things together / I get to go to the space station) = have a chance to do something

get too soft (any adjective)  =  become too soft (any adjective would work here. For example, my coffee got too hot, etc.)

get back out there/on the dating scene = start dating again after a breakup

it takes me back to = this helps me remember what we did a long time ago

take someone out = to invite someone to go somewhere with you on a date

it takes years/months/a long time = it will last for a year/month/a long time

quirks = funny, silly things you do
