Financial officers and advisers

The EU Executive Agencies are looking for financial officers and financial advisers to be recruited as contract staff.

As financial officer or adviser, your tasks may include:

  • Budget planning and follow-up and budget information and reporting
  • Financial coordination and advice, financial analysis and reporting
  • Financial initiation and/or verification
  • Financial support
  • Management of financial information
  • Preparation and following-up of calls for tender and calls for proposal
  • Administrative tasks related to assets

Project/Programme officers and advisers

The EU  Executive Agencies are looking for project/programme officers and project/programme advisers to be recruited as contract staff.

As project/programme officer or adviser, your tasks may include:

  •    General programme management : grant cycle management and call for tenders management
  •    Preparation of technical specifications for call for tenders
  •    Evaluation, monitoring and promotion of calls for proposals
  •    Evaluation, monitoring and negotiation of projects
  •    Financial evaluation of projects and programs
  •    Preparation of reports and statistics
  •    Project/programme management support

calls for tender: If EU institutions or agencies want to buy goods and services (studies, consultancy, conference and publicity, books, etc.), the potential providers are selected via calls for tender. Read more about the difference between GRANTS and TENDERS HERE

calls for proposal: If EU institutions want to make direct financial contributions in support of projects or organisations, the potential projects/organisations are selected via calls for proposal. Read more about the difference between GRANTS and TENDERS HERE.

grant cycle management: Here, the word ‘cycle’ refers to the whole cycle of programme implementation related to GRANTs (see ‘call for proposals’ above), including proposal submission, evaluation, grant preparation, award and project management, etc.
