Leftover sandwiches always turn out to be the best at my house. I guess this is because they are so unpredictable. You never know what goes in them and how they come out, so there is always a bit of suspense
One glaring exception is the famous Thanksgiving leftover sandwich! Here is how to make it – give it a try!

Here is how to make it – give it a try!
LEFTOVER TURKEY SANDWICH
You’ll need:
- 3 pieces of sandwich bread, toasted
- Grilled turkey meat
- Stuffing (= a mixture of chopped bread, herbs, onions, eggs put inside the turkey before it’s cooked) & gravy (=brown sauce made from grilled meat juices)
- Cranberry sauce
- Fried onions
- Lettuce, tomato, cucumber or other greens (=vegetables)
- Mayo (if you like it)
To make the Moistmaker (=something that makes the sandwich MOIST and NOT DRY): Pour gravy into a shallow (= NOT deep) dish and soak (=make wet) one piece of toasted bread in it for a couple of minutes, flipping (=turning it over to cover both sides) halfway through.
To make the sandwich: Lay down (=put down on a flat surface) the bottom piece of bread like this: cranberry sauce, turkey, the Moistmaker, stuffing, crunchy fried onions, lettuce, and top with your last piece of bread, which should be spread (= put something on bread like butter or mayo) with a little mayo.
Gobble, gobble (=eat something fast). And don’t leave it in the fridge at work – watch the video to know why not!
