There is no Christmas without Love, Actually, so here is one of my favorite scenes of the movie! And a great oldie but goodie hit song for your English – scroll down for a couple of words to know!
LYRICS & WORDS TO KNOW
Hold me, I’ll give all that you need
Wrap your love around me
You’re so excited, I can feel you
Getting hotter, oh baby
I’ll take you down, I’ll take you down
Where no one’s ever gone before
And if you want more, if you want more
Jump for my love
Jump in and feel my touch
Jump you want to taste my kisses
In the night then
Jump, jump for my love
I’ll take you down, I’ll take you down
Where no one’s ever gone before
PM (Prime Minister): Yeah, um, Mary, I’ve been thinking (= Present Perfect Continuous tense – refers to the present, shows that he did a lot if thinking). Can we move the Japanese ambassador to 4 o’clock tomorrow? (= Can we reschedule our meeting with the Japanese ambassador?)
Mary: Certainly, sir. *(= Sir/Madam is used to address a prime minister or president in conversation – see below).
PM (Prime Minister): Terrific. Thank you so much.
HOW TO ADDRESS THE HEADS OF STATE IN CONVERSATION?
On the odd chance that you’ll meet the heads of state in the UK or the US, here is what you need to know:
UK:
at the beginning of the conversation: Prime Minister, …
subsequently during the conversation: …..sir/madam
US:
at the beginning of the conversation: Mr/Madam President, …
subsequently during the conversation: …….sir/madam
